Demetriou: tough start to the season ‘builds character’

South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou is under-pressure.

If the Rabbitohs don’t win today they’ll be 0-4 to start the season. The last time the Bunnies dropped the opening month of games was back in 2008 when they finished 14th.

There’s been speculation Demetriou’s job is on the line if he can’t turn the team around, but he wasn’t phased when he fronted the media on Thursday.

A happy public holiday to all those kicking their feet up today, but it will only be a good Friday for one of these team’s today.

It’s crunch time for the Rabbitohs who are 0-3 to start the season, while the Bulldogs are trying to build on the magic they found during their win last week.

Foxx returns

Canterbury have received a huge boost with Josh Addo-Carr to start in about an hour.

The man known as ‘The Foxx’ was named in the No. 23 and suffered a shoulder injury back in round one. He initially feared it was a broken collarbone.

Still on the Dogs, they just snatched victory in the NSW Cup with a try in the final 90 seconds. They won 22-20.
