‘You knew it was going to be bad’: Golf star claims LIV peers ‘full of s***’ in explosive tirade

LIV Golf star Harold Varner III has torn into his peers from the rebel tour, insisting they’re only interested in “growing their pockets” instead of growing the game.

Varner is one of 18 players from the Saudi-backed enterprise competing at The Masters, with LIV chief Greg Norman holding out hope one of the defectors can emerge victorious at Augusta.

The 32-year-old initially rejected LIV’s advances to break away from the PGA Tour but eventually signed on the dotted line for a reported $20 million fee.

But what made Varner stand out from his LIV compatriots was his brutal honesty about why he signed on, stating the opportunity was “simply too good of a financial breakthrough” for him to pass up.

It differed from the thoughts of fellow defectors like Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson who, despite joining for large sums, claimed it was about growing the game.

Varner has now called on those players to cut to the chase when it comes to the real reason as to why they moved to LIV in a remarkable attack.

“They’re full of s***,” Varner told the Washington Post.

“I tell them all the time, all of them, you didn’t come here to f***ing grow the game.”

The American also hit out at those who have tried to keep playing on the PGA Tour in order to continue qualifying for the majors.

“If you said I can’t play in the majors, I’d be fine,” Varner said.

“I’ve accepted that. I was cool with it.

“But some of these motherf***ers want their cake and eat it too.

“Like, dude you knew it was going to be bad. Like going against the US government.

“Good luck man.”
