AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian is set to closely inspect Kangaroo Griffin Logue’s contact with Hawthorn midfielder Will Day during the Hawks’ gritty win in Launceston.
Logue and Day were both running towards a loose ball during the third quarter before it bounce into Logue’s leg.
The North Melbourne defender then braced, lifted one leg up and appeared to make contact with Day’s neck/shoulder region.

Luckily for Logue, Day was able to quickly recover and remain involved in the contest. He stayed on the ground and was able to play out the match.
But recent precedent suggests MRO Michael Christian will closely inspect Logue’s contact due to the potential to cause injury.
The MRO in Round 1 elevated the ‘impact’ grading of two incidents — Kysaiah Picket’s bump on Bailey Smith and Shane McAdam’s bump on Jacob Wehr — as they had the potential to cause injury, despite neither Smith nor Wehr being ruled out of their respective matches due to concussion post-bump.
Logue was traded from Fremantle to North Melbourne during last year’s trade period.
The key defender took a game-high five intercept marks against the Hawks to go with 16 disposals.
