The 2023 Melbourne Cup has been won by Without A Fight ($7.50, third-favourite).
It became the first horse to complete the Caulfield Cup – Melbourne Cup double since Ethereal in 2001.
Soulcombe came in second, with Sheraz third and a photo for fourth.
The race began at 3:08pm.
Serpentine led when they passed the finishing post for the first time from Future History, Magical Lagoon and Vow and Declare, and led until the final turn.
