‘Just making it up’: Legends left scratching heads over ‘absolutely ruthless’ bunker call

As Milne left the field, Leniu had spotted the replay being played on the big-screen doubled back to confront the South Sydney star before Panthers trainers intervened/

“This is getting ugly in a real hurry, I don’t know if these trainers are strong enough to hold him back, this is shades of back to Brookvale stuff,” Ginnane said.

“Taane Milne doesn’t want any part of it but Spencer certainly does… I think he knows he is totally in the wrong here Taane.”

Milne’s action were slammed by the Fox League panel and the NRL community.

“Is that the worst shot you have ever seen? That was a shocking tackle,” Braith Anasta said,

“He got sin binned twice a couple of weeks ago against the Roosters, and tonight he was sent off.”

“It was awful and stupid and puts everyone under pressure, it also alleviates any sort of comeback,” Corey Parker added.

“Seriously, that tackle got outlawed in 1980, if he says that he is not thinking it is even worse,” Gorden Tallis said.

“It is an area of Taane Milne’s game he needs to eradicate, he needs to put it away, two weeks earlier he was put in the sin bin twice and here sent off,” Parker replied.

“If you are playing with someone like that, it puts your team under so much pressure, off the back of that it makes it really difficult.”

Milne became the first player to be sent off in a finals clash since 1994 when Johnny Lomax and Gary Larson were both sent off after a spear tackle on David Furner in the Raiders and Bears’ clash.

Fox League’s commentators weren’t the only ones stunned by the ugly hit, and the rugby league world was left shocked.
