He can bowl, he can bat, he can field, and he’s our 47th Test captain, but the one thing Pat Cummins can’t do has been revealed.
The second season of the Amazon documentary series ‘The Test’ went behind the scenes of the Australian tour of Pakistan in March 2022, where the team found themselves in their hotel almost full-time, with ‘head-of-state’ level security.

“Cricket Australia basically said to us, what can we do to try and make your life in hotels for the next month better,” said captain Pat Cummins.
“The boys just took it to the next level.
“Within 30 seconds David Warner sends a message, ‘we need a golf simulator, this is the one we need’.
“Marnus says we need a coffee machine, Steve Smith says we need oat milk, Cam Green says we need a basketball net.”
“We had more toys than a day care centre”, said spinner Nathan Lyon.
The Australian team are known for loving their video games, with Jhye Richardson shown in the first season of the documentary as being fond of taking his PlayStation on tour.
“I can comfortably say there’s no international cricketer that’s put more hours on (video game) Call of Duty than me over the last two years”, said all-rounder Mitch Marsh.
“We’ve found the one thing Patty’s not good at.”
“He’s sh*t (at Call of Duty), and we can tell him he’s sh*t.’
“I still reckon I’m better than Nathan Lyon,” said Cummins.
The second season of the Amazon series details the Australian cricket team’s transition under Pat Cummins after the Tim Paine sexting saga, as well as Justin Langer’s eventual falling out with the national side, seeing him dumped after a home Ashes series win and T20 World Cup success.
