‘We done?’ Bennett’s icy response after Bromwich’s brain fade in Rabbitohs massacre

Master coach Wayne Bennett has delivered an icy response after he questioned regarding Kenny Bromwich’s crucial late sin bin.

The 31-year-old backrower collected Rabbitohs winger Taane Milne with an ugly high shot as he attempted to catch a high ball.

Bromwich’s shoulder struck Milne directly on the chin and referee Ashley Klein raised ten fingers and gave the former Storm forward his marching orders.

FOX LEAGUE PODCAST – LACHIE MILLER ‘COULD’VE BEEN DIGGING HOLES’

Knights fullback Lachie Miller reveals the big risk he took when he rejected a Rugby 7s contract extension to chase his NRL dream.

The Rabbitohs went on to score three tries in the 10 minutes Bromwich was off the field, adding to their 30 unanswered second half points to secure a 36-14 win.

Bennett has a history of being blunt with media, but the 73-year-old was particularly cold after losing to his former assistant Jason Demetriou.

“Were you surprised by the sin bin, or did you think it was fair?” a reporter asked in the post-match press conference.

“There’s been a lot of sin bins this season,” Bennett said with his arms folded.

“Too many?” the reported said.

“I haven’t been counting them, but there’s been plenty of them,” Bennett said.

Bennett was then asked about his praise of Cody Walker during the week and the experienced coach said: “Cody (Walker) is one of the most skilful players that I coached”.

Walker recorded three try assists and a four pointer of his own on Thursday night in a playmaking masterclass.

“He was difficult to contain, and I thought he put his stamp on the game, didn’t he?” a reporter asked.

“Yeah sure…. we done?” Bennett said as he left the press conference.

Meanwhile, Demetriou said Bromwich got his tackle “really wrong” and the backrower could be facing a stint on the sidelines.
