St Kilda has confirmed the resignation of head of performance and conditioning Nick Walsh, effective immediately.
The sudden departure of Walsh, who first joined the Saints in 2021, is significant considering the club’s outside running power has been a key hallmark of its game under Ross Lyon.
It’s been key to St Kilda’s superb 5-2 start to the season as one of the most improved sides in the competition despite a towering injury list.

Saints footy boss David Misson in a statement on Tuesday morning thanked Walsh for his contributions to the club.
“On behalf of everyone at the Saints, I want to thank Nick for his tireless work across the football program since joining, including his work in setting up our fitness program for this current season,” Misson said.
“Nick has brought a high-level of professionalism and dedication to the role which has seen him win great respect with staff and players.
“Nick indicated to us this week that he wanted to take a break from his role at the club and look to what’s next in his professional career. We fully support his decision to do so and wish him all the very best.”
It continues the lengthy turnover of off-field personnel at St Kilda including Mission replacing Geoff Walsh as footy boss in January after the veteran administrator resigned due to family reasons just three months after joining the club.
New list boss Stephen Silvagni reunited with Lyon ahead of this season, while Graeme Allan joined the club as its head of talent and acquisition.
