Wallabies veteran Kurtley Beale has declared he’s open to a code switch to the NRL after being found not guilty in court last week.
Beale hasn’t played football since being charged last January with sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of sexual touching.
The 35-year-old always maintained the encounter was consensual and a NSW District Court found him not guilty on all counts last week.

Beale, who is married, says he is “not proud” of the incident but now that it is “behind” him he wants to continue his career and is open to playing NRL.
“It’s a possibility,” Beale told 9News.
“I’ve always been a big admirer of league. Growing up in Mt Druitt, Sydney west, but also there’s been an admiration throughout my career.
“Always watching league over the weekends and taking little bits from different players to add to my game.
“There is interest there, for both codes.”
Beale played 95 Tests for the Wallabies but was not considered for selection for the 2023 World Cup Australia due to his court case.
It would be hard to imagine an NRL club taking a chance on Beale and handing him a career lifeline and the veteran said he’d be willing to play overseas.
But Beale told 9News this week his number one focus at the moment is on his wife and young family.
“There’s certainly mistakes that I’m not proud of. They are huge work-ons for me, to be a better person going forward,” he said.
“I’m not a perfect person but I’ll be doing everything I can to take the right steps ahead with the relationships I have in my life.”
