Koepka loses his lead as Rahm drains clutch par putt

For those just catching up, we have two golfers with a decent lead ahead of the pack.

Brooks Koepka said he was confident of being able to keep his lead throughout Sunday but that is proving easier said than done. His group partner for today, John Rahm, is making a move.

On the par three 6th, Koepka hits long and chips back on. He’s very (very!) fortunate that his second shot doesn’t roll all the way to the front of the green.

Rahm misses his target as well off the tee but chips on to about three metres.

Oh dear. Koepka misses his par putt and has to settle for bogey. He’s back to nine-under.

Meanwhile, Rahm makes no mistake and drains a par putt. The crowd are loving this as the Spaniard stays at 10-under.

This final day is set up beautifully. Grab a coffee and enjoy this drama play out at Augusta.

A word from Adam Pengilly, from Augusta

By Adam Pengilly

It’s been a frustrating day for the Australians, who are playing for little more than pride at the moment.

Both Cameron Smith (+3) and Adam Scott (+4) had five holes to finish their third rounds this morning, and both promptly dunked balls in the water in the 15th, their second hole of the day. In fact, Scott fluffed two into the pond for a triple bogey eight.

Jason Day has had a day of what ifs. He’s currently even par in his final round and three-under for the tournament, seven shots behind Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm.

Tiger Woods withdraws from The Masters

A limping Tiger Woods has withdrawn from The Masters, preventing him from having to play a marathon 29 holes on the final day at Augusta National.

Less than 24 hours after he made the cut in treacherous conditions, the 47-year-old told tournament officials on Sunday night (AEST) he wouldn’t be finishing his third round, and later took to Twitter explaining he had aggravated his plantar fasciitis.

All players are expected to complete their third rounds and then return straight to the course to play their final 18 holes after a rain-marred tournament.

Woods has visibly been in pain walking the course’s undulating layout on his bionic right leg, which he almost lost in a high-speed car crash in 2021. It’s the second time he has withdrawn from a major championship in the last two years after not finishing the PGA Championship in 2022.

Woods (+9) equalled a Masters record for most consecutive cuts made (23) when he scraped into the third round on the number on Sunday morning (AEST), claiming he was looking forward to playing another 36 holes.

That was despite a bogey-bogey finish to his second round.

Good morning golf fans

G’day golf lovers.

Welcome to our live coverage of the final day of the US Masters. If you went to bed last night thinking this might be a bit a fizzler of a final day, think again.

Brooks Koepka had a four shot lead over Jon Rahm before today’s play. Keep in mind, due to poor weather, he’d have to play 29 holes today.
