Penrith’s Dylan Edwards will miss the next two-to-four weeks with a groin injury as the four-time premiers go into Thursday’s grand final re-match against Melbourne as distinct underdogs.
Scans on Saturday afternoon have revealed Edwards’ groin tear that forced him off against the Roosters is worse than first feared, and will sideline him for at least the next fortnight.
Edwards will miss Penrith’s round three trip to Melbourne and the following week against South Sydney as well.
Daine Laurie replaces the NSW and Australian Test star at the back against the Storm, who are warm $1.42 favourites with Sportsbet and the Panthers outsiders at $2.88.
More to come.
