Tips and race-by-race guide for Taree on Tuesday
By John Schell

Selections based on a soft track.

Race 1

6. Fun In Texas ran her best race when finishing second at Armidale at her last start. She had failed on the Beaumont track at Newcastle before that, but her previous form was solid. She gets her chance to break through here. 7. Hardash finished second at this track at his latest outing and that was his second run back from a break. He’s drawn well here and is suited with the apprentice allowance. 8. Prince Is Game is unplaced from five starts, but has shown enough ability in some of those runs to suggest he can make an impact here fresh on the back of a trial. 1. Doncaster Avenue has been just behind the placings in both runs at this track and he can show up without surprising.
How to play it: Fun In Texas each way.

Race 2

10. Golden Smile hit the line well when resuming from a spell with a third at Newcastle. The step up in distance should suit and expect her to be powering home again. 7. Jason Darren has been placed in all three runs since resuming from a spell and he looms as a major player again. 9. Cup Of Ambition was placed at this track and her latest start, and could measure up again, while 1. Annoint should not be too far away.
How to play it: Golden Smile to win.

Race 3

8. Rare Moon has been racing well with a couple of placings at Hawkesbury and Newcastle followed by a last-start fourth at Gosford. She’s shown enough ability to be rated the one to beat in this. 4. Crazy Mikki has been placed at this track in both runs since resuming from a spell and should be thereabouts again. 7. Tosmian has finished second and third in her past two starts at Scone and Port Macquarie, and she can get into the placings again. 1. Bold Design is on debut and has had two trials to prepare, finishing second in the latest of them at Muswellbrook.
How to play it: Rare Moon to win.

Race 4

6. Razella did the job well when resuming from a spell to score a strong win at this track. The extra distance should suit, and she can go on with the job now she’s broken through. 1. Pocket Eights ran home well to finish second at Scone at his last start, and if he can run up to that then he will be hard to hold out again. 3. Sweet Patriot bolted in as a short-priced favourite at Port Macquarie last time out and can make an impact again, while 2. Oceanfront is a winner of one from three and can run well fresh.
How to play it: Razella to win.

Race 5

10. Wandjad scored a good win at this track last month and gives the indication the extra distance here won’t pose a problem. 7. Bold Hoi Ho went down narrowly at Coffs Harbour two starts ago and wasn’t beaten far at Doomben when last produced. 6. Victory At Omaha ran well at Kembla Grange at his last start and has bright prospects again. 5. Veandechance has been tackling Highway grade of late and might find this an easier assignment.
How to play it: Wandjad to win.

Race 6

5. Kickamushu broke her maiden in good style when winning at Nowra in August, then was spelled after finishing down the track at Tamworth. She resumes here and had a trial at Warwick Farm to prepare. She’s suited from the good draw. 1. Miss Mazerati won well at Coffs Harbour two starts back then wasn’t beaten far at Grafton when a last-start eighth. 4. Robarge is a last-start Tuncurry winner that warrants respect, while 11. Risk Assessment has been below her best of late but can improve.
How to play it: Kickamushu to win.

Race 7

8. Nazare’s Impact was a winner at Port Macquarie four runs ago and then was placed in two runs at this track before a last-start eighth in tougher grade at Gosford. He will appreciate the drop back in grade here and can bounce back. 6. Telegraph is resuming from a spell on the back of a recent trial at this track in which he finished third. He has the talent to make an impact. 2. Pixie Hallow wasn’t beaten too far when resuming at Lismore and can be placed, while 11. Onepointsevengone ran second at Tuncurry as favourite last time out and has claims again.
How to play it: Nazare’s Impact each way.

Race 8

1. Capzinzi has had four runs since joining the new stable and has been placed in each of her past three starts, with narrow seconds at Murwillumbah and Coffs Harbour at her past two. She’s drawn well and gets an apprentice allowance, which should help her cause. 4. Golden Dubai has been placed in all three runs since resuming from a spell and only needs to have maintained that form to be hard to hold out. 3. Spring Eagle wasn’t too far away at Coffs Harbour when last produced and can sneak into the placings, while 12. Intoxication has been racing well and is worth thought.
How to play it: Capzinzi to win.
