Selections based on a good track.
Race 1 – 6PM INGLIS XTRA BONUS PLATE (1550 METRES)
7. Amusing debuted at Newcastle and ran well when finishing second and then backed that up with a solid effort at Kembla Grange when finishing third at her only other start. The step-up in distance should suit and she has the advantage of barrier one.
Dangers: 3. Jolly Good Fellow has had three runs back from a spell and followed a resuming fourth with two solid placings. He is racing well enough to be considered a leading contender here. 1. Banxi was midfield on debut at Kembla Grange and then improved when a close-up second at Hawkesbury. He can make an impact again. 5. Omnic has been placed in three of five starts and warrants respect.
How to play it: Amusing to win.
Race 2 – 6:30PM THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE PLATE (1250 METRES)
2. Inside Man is a well-bred colt on debut here after two good trials. He’s drawn well in barrier two and should figure prominently in the finish if the breaks go his way.
Dangers: 1. Hopper had looked good in his trials before debuting with a solid effort here two weeks ago when finishing fourth. He only needs to run up to that effort to be in the finish. 4. Metaphorically resumed in the same event Hopper contested and finished fifth. He should run well again here despite the wide draw. 8. Bella Corazon is resuming and has shown talent with two placings to her name.
How to play it: Inside Man to win.
Race 3 – 7PM QUAYCLEAN HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
7. Gerringong is a filly on debut and comes into this after an easy win in a Randwick trial. She’s drawn well and should take up a forward position and take plenty of running down.
Dangers: 8. Regimental Colours debuted with a third at Canterbury when running well when racing on the speed. She should be thereabouts again. 3. Queen’s Rhapsody resumed from a spell with a second in the same race Regimental Colours contested and a repeat of that would have her hard to hold out. 6. Call Me Sassy is a filly on debut and she has performed well in her trials.
How to play it: Gerringong to win.
Race 4 – 7:30PM THE AGENCY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
3. Rapt is a handy mare resuming from a spell and she hit her straps at the end of her last campaign when scoring back-to-back wins at Scone and Grafton. Expect her to be hitting the line well on the back of a couple of recent trials.
Dangers: 6. Ragga Ragga is resuming from a spell and was a WarwicK Farm winner last campaign. She should sprint well fresh in this. 8. Rantan did the job well to score at Hawkesbury when last produced and can show up again here if she can run up to that effort. 2. Flightcrew ran well enough when resuming here two weeks ago and can show up here if anywhere near her best.
How to play it: Rapt each way.
Race 5 – 8PM SCHWEPPES HANDICAP (1250 METRES)
5. Apex debuted with a third at Warwick Farm earlier in the year and then was spelled. He had two trials leading into this resuming run at Hawkesbury and he charged home to score impressively in that event over subsequent winner The Grey. He has plenty of upside and is the one to beat again.
Dangers: 8. Codetta was a Newcastle winner in July at her second start and then was spelled. She resumed with another victory at Kembla Grange and she should be prominent again. 3. Fire Tribe resumed with a solid third at Kembla Grange and he can be placed again if he runs up to that effort. 12. True Amor was first-up from a spell when winning at Kembla Grange earlier in the month and can be prominent again.
How to play it: Apex to win.
Race 6 – 8:30PM HEADWATER @ VINERY STUD HANDICAP (1550 METRES)
5. She’s Unusual is a talented mare with three wins and as many seconds from only six starts. She was a winner on the Kensington track before being spelled and resumes after two good trials.
Dangers: 3. Hello World led throughout to score on the Kensington track two starts ago and then wasn’t disgraced when midfield at Warwick Farm last time out. 2. Like A Tiger debuted in Australia with a solid fourth at Rosehill before a last start 10th at Warwick Farm. He can improve here. 1. Contributingfactor will be better for a solid enough first-up effort at Rosehill and is worth including.
How to play it: She’s Unusual to win.
Race 7 – 9PM KIA EVENING STAR (1250 METRES)
3. Stromboli ran well when finishing fourth at Rosehill at his latest start. He has drawn ideally in gate two and gets his chance to break through with another victory.
Dangers: 4. Silentsar was a winner at Rosehill three starts ago and has performed well in both runs since then. He can show up again in this company. 6. Huesca is resuming from a spell but has shown ability and is capable of sprinting well fresh. 10. Cash Me won at Hawkesbury three starts ago and comes into this on the back of a solid recent Randwick trial.
How to play it: Stromboli to win.
Race 8 – 9:30PM TAB HANDICAP (1900 METRES)
7. Heaven Bound has shown her share of ability in a career that boasts three wins from 12 starts. She resumed from a spell with a dominant Kembla Grange victory and should be further improved by that hit-out. This looks well within her reach.
Dangers: 10. Angel Of Light has been just behind the placings in each of her latest three starts and her form looks solid for a race like this. 4. Concello has had two starts back from a spell and should be ready to peak now up to this trip. 8. Kirikan has been up and down of late but is talented on his day and is not out of this.
How to play it: Heaven Bound to win.
