Tigers’ audacious bid to bring Moses home as secret Sheens meeting revealed

The Tigers are reportedly launching an audacious bid to bring Mitchell Moses back to the club and head coach Tim Sheens held a secret meeting with the gun halfback abroad.

Moses is currently representing Lebanon at the World Cup in England, while Sheens is an advisor to the Italian team.

The 28-year-old is one of the biggest names to hit the open market come November 1 and the merger club have reportedly made their intentions clear.

Tigers powerbrokers are reportedly willing to table an offer upwards of $1 million-per-season to catapult Moses into the competition’s highest paid players list.

Tigers assistant Robbie Farah, working as an assistant for Lebanon, sparked the discussion between Sheens and Moses.

Meanwhile, Sheens reportedly also met with former Raiders backrower John Bateman who is seeking a return to the NRL.

It was previously reported the Tigers will have to stump up a $350,000 transfer fee and that huge sum is still proving to be a sticking point.

Sheens’ meeting with Moses could see one of the Tigers current halves depart the club — Jackson Hastings and Adam Doueihi.

Luke Brooks reportedly won’t be released prior to the end of his contract in 2023 and if he remains in Leichhardt, the 27-year-old could link up with Moses yet again.

Doueihi and Hastings both will hit the open market in only a few days time and could be fielding lucrative offers from other clubs.

David Klemmer has also reportedly emerged as a target if the Tigers and the former Origin prop will also be free to negotiate with rivals come November 1.
