He’s the Aussie cricket star known for being extremely vocal, and Marnus Labuschagne didn’t disappoint when mic’d up by Fox Cricket against South Africa.
The Test star was on from the first moment of the First Test at the Gabba, as he boldly chirped his own skipper Pat Cummins about his pre-game address.
Cummins had pulled the team into a huddle on the first day on Friday, telling the players: “Let’s enjoy it lads, don’t need to win this Test this morning hey.”

“Let’s do our things, through the channel, good balls, get them driving – back it up in the field,” he told his teammates.
And Labuschagne couldn’t resist giving his own thoughts as players entered the field of play.
“Well done, that was your best,” he told Cummins as the duo came together.
“I like how you gave us the plan. I like that.”

Standing at short leg in the field, Labuschagne continued to have a dig at his South African opponents.
“Thought we were going to get a little pool shot,” he joked.
“Slight off spin, straight at you Smudgey!” he added after a Nathan Lyon delivery, talking to teammate Steve Smith.

It’s not the first time Labuschagne has provided plenty of banter in the field.
He’s known to try and get under opponent’s skin while wearing the helmet, hilariously asking Rohit Sharma what he did during quarantine back in the 2021 series and questioning Shubman Gill who his favourite player is.
