A rugby league star has found himself at the centre of a sex scandal after graphic footage was leaked on Twitter.
Joe Westerman, who plays for the club Castleford Tigers in the English Super League, is allegedly the man in the video – which caused a storm when it circulated on Monday (AEDT).
Footage shows a man – rumoured to be the married father-of-three – performing a sexual act on a woman in an alleyway, The Sun reports.
His wife Lauren took to social media and shared a statement: “Can I make this VERY clear that this is NOT me.
“We have three children one of whom is almost 15 and she doesn’t need to see things like this all over social media!”
The 33-year-old has since come under fire and an investigation was launched by the Castleford Tigers club.
A statement from the club read: “Castleford Tigers are aware of a video involving a player that circulated on social media.
“This issue is currently being dealt with internally and the club will make no further comment at this time.”
His Wikipedia page has been edited by one internet joker to add “back of Greggs” to his list of clubs following the viral video.
This comes shortly before the 2023 Super League, which is due to start on Thursday.
Westerman, who made his breakthrough in 2007 with Castleford, spent spells with Hull, Warrington, Toronto and Wakefield before returning to his first club in 2022.
The 6ft 4 ins Yorkshireman also has two senior international caps for England – with those coming in 2014 and 2021.
