Dragons coach Anthony Griffin couldn’t help but chuckle when asked if the side “needed a different voice” after their 18-16 loss to the Tigers.
It was the Dragons fifth straight loss, and painfully their fourth in five games that they’ve lost by a margin of two points or less.
Griffin, who has had to deal with constant rumours and reports regarding his job security since the start of the season, was again faced with questions on the subject in the Dragons post-match press conference.

One journalist asked, “I know this sounds blunt Hook, but do the Dragons need a different voice for the rest of the season just to mix things up?”
Griffin responded with slight chuckle and said, “I don’t think so mate. That is blunt.”
The Dragons coach says he isn’t worried about his tedious position at the club and hasn’t braced for any bad news.
He labelled the current losing streak as “heartbreaking to everyone” at the club, echoing Ben Hunt’s frustration.
“For long periods there we were coming together and were patient but at vital times we came up with the wrong option or an error in the play the ball and gave away the ball early in the set,” Griffin said.

“You are just losing by two and if you can change a few of those situations in the game, you aren’t trying to score a try to win the game with 30 seconds to go.
“It’s about keeping going. We could have had three or four wins over the past five weeks but we haven’t.
“The only thing that is going to change is us if we keep chasing it and learn from it.”
