Texas forever! Rangers win World Series amid perfect road run in epic franchise first

The Rangers have their first World Series title.

Behind six scoreless innings from starter Nathan Eovaldi, Texas rolled to a 5-0 win over the Diamondbacks in Game Five to win the series four games to one on Wednesday night.

D-backs pitcher Zac Gallen held Texas hitless into the seventh, but Corey Seager came through with a single before Mitch Garver broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single.

Texas added four insurance runs in the ninth, capped off by a Marcus Semien two-run homer to left.

Reliever Josh Sborz finished the job off with 2 1/3 scoreless, striking out four.

The win marked manager Bruce Bochy’s fourth title as a big league skipper.

Texas’ victory in Game Five also sealed a perfect 11-0 record for the team on the road in the postseason.
