Wicket: Konstas falls after three balls
Sam Konstas is in, and he’s out. My oh my.
First ball: Right-armer Mukesh Kumar is into Konstas’s ribs from back of a length. Soundly handled.
Second ball: Follow up is probing on off-stump. Good start from Kumar, that’s got Konstas defending down to gully.
Third ball: Perfectly pitched, draws him into it on a fourth/fifth stump line and edges through to the keeper.
Cameron Bancroft to the wicket alongside Harris, and that’s quite the development in terms of this fun opening conversation, Sam Konstas is very much the public favourite, all our polls say so anyway.
Next over India A goes up with a big shout for an edge from Bancroft. Entire slips cordon convinced Prasidh Krishna had the West Aussie, Bancroft stood his ground and the umpire agreed.
Australia A 1-0: Konstas 0, Harris 0*

Poll: Who should open in the first Test?
Welcome one, welcome all
Afternoon sports fans,
Anyone for cricket? Silly question. Sun’s out, cricket’s on. And what a game of cricket we’ve got – for one side in Mackay at least.
India A has been absolutely rolled for 107 in just 47 overs, with Queenslander Brendan Doggett (now plying his trade for South Australia) claiming a career-best 6-15 and bringing Australia’s Test opening contenders to the crease earlier than anyone expected.
This is the first of two four-day games and they’ll have a rather large bearing on who opens alongside Usman Khawaja in the first Test in a few weeks time.
Marcus Harris, Cameron Bancroft, Sam Konstas or Nathan McSweeney? Pick your poison, or just sit back and watch like the selectors because we’ve got at least Konstas and Harris at the crease earlier than expected.
Australia A’s innings kicks off in 10 minutes or so and we’ll be here for all of it. Giddy up.
