Arrayah Barrett, the two-year-old daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett, drowned on Sunday morning in the family’s swimming pool, according to Tampa Police.
Officers responded to a call about a child falling into a pool on Sunday around 9.30am.
Arrayah was transported to a nearby hospital, but even with lifesaving measures, the two-year-old was pronounced dead a short time after arrival, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Police are currently investigating the death, but it is believed to be a purely accidental and tragic incident, according to a TPD statement.
