Butker kicks Chiefs to within eight seconds of Super Bowl glory

From just 27 yards out, Harrison Butker kicks his team into the lead. Eleven seconds remain on the clock but this looks as good as over. Chiefs lead 38-35

Chiefs get bailed out by holding penalty

A disastrous penalty for the Eagles. James Bradberry called for a holding play. The Eagles then attempt to let Kansas City score so they’ll get the ball back but te Chiefs stop short of the line.

Mailata helps Hurts set Super Bowl record

There’s a big reason why Jalen Hurts is having one heck of a game, and that’s his offensive lineman Jordan Mailata. Just a quick look at the space he’s helped create for the Eagles star, who has a record three rushing touchdowns for a quarterback in the Super Bowl.

Chiefs sitting pretty

The Chiefs are in position to kick a field goal if they’re unable to score a touchdown here. The Eagles are gonna have to start using their timeouts to keep time on the clock. Otherwise, Kansas City will be able to run down time and have a kick to win the game with next to no time remaining. You’d want to be on the Chiefs from here. 35-35

Chiefs on the move

Isiah Pacheco – who is having a wonderful game – keeps the Chiefs drive alive with a strong run. Kansas City are already into Eagles territory. That’s followed by a 27-yard run from Mahomes. 35-35 with two minutes remaining.

Hurts having an all-time Super Bowl game

He’s not even guaranteed to win right now, but Jalen Hurts is having arguably the greatest individual game in Super Bowl history.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has thrown for 304 yards on 27/37 passing, rushed for 70 yards and has three (yes, three!) touchdowns of his own plus that crucial two-point conversion which levelled the scores with five minutes left.

The most touchdowns ever scored in a Super Bowl is three by Jerry Rice (twice), Roger Craig, Ricky Waters, Terrell Davis and James White. And he’s a quarterback!

Throw in the fumble which led to the Chiefs’ scoop and score touchdown in the first half, and it’s been a wild game for Hurts in Arizona.

What a finish we are in for

It’s anyone’s guess from now. Two really good teams. Two excellent QBs and one man (Hurts) having close to the greatest individual performance seen in a Super Bowl. Wonderful stuff.

Hurts magic levels scores

Hurts is enjoying a day of brilliance. He just had his third rushing TD of the day and then charged in for the two-point conversion to level the scores.

That all came after the biggest third down the match arrived and the Eagles got the job done. Hurts and AJ Brown combined for 12 yards. Then on the next play, Hurts launched a long bomb to DeVanta Smith. Scores are tied at 35-35

“And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all.

“It’s important for my son to see that.”

Turns out it’s important for her son – plus another one – to witness history.

Mahomes cashes in on record return

Skyy Moore finds himself wide open and Mahomes finds him to extend the lead to eight points. It was a mirror image of the previous touchdown scored by the Chiefs. After the Eagles looked so good for so long, the scoreboard and clock are now both working against them. Chiefs lead 35-27
