Dubbo horseman Brett Robb will head to Wellington on Sunday with a strong team of runners ready to represent the stable well.
Robb, who prepares the classy galloper Gallant Star, will have five runners in action across six races at Wellington.
The top trainer will start the day with Bylong (Shayleigh Ingelse) and Charlie Magic (Georgina McDonnell) lining up in the KFC Wellington Maiden Handicap (900m).
Bylong is a Press Statement three-year-old gelding making his debut and he’s had one trial leading into his first start performance.
Charlie Magic had two trials before debuting with a fourth placing at Dubbo, and despite a wide draw in this event looks set to run well.
Platinum Warrior will be Robb’s representative in the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Country Boosted Maiden Plate (1400m) with Kody Nestor taking the ride.
Platinum Warrior has been placed in three of his nine starts and the son of Pariah has the talent to give Sunday’s event a shake.
McDonnell will partner the Robb-prepared Pressipitating in the Grand Hotel And Bottle Shop Maiden Plate (1100m), and despite not being placed in four starts the four-year-old mare by Press Statement looks set to improve in this event.
Seven-start veteran Star Intrigue will round out the Robb team when contesting the OTL – Over The Line Racing Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1600m) with Nestor again taking the ride.
Star Intrigue won a maiden at Bathurst two starts ago and followed that up with a last-start third at Dubbo when again running well.
Another Dubbo trainer – Michael Mullholland – will also have a strong hand at Sunday’s Wellington meeting with four leading chances running.
Infinite Prince will start his day when contesting the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Country Boosted Maiden Plate (1400m) with Adrian Layt in the saddle.
The trainer will then combine with Shayleigh Ingelse for the remaining three runners he has running on the day when Epic Poem runs in the Elders Insurance Class 3 Handicap (1400m), Wandering Jack contests the J.R Richards & Sons Class 1 Handicap (1100m), and Interventionist contest the final event of the day.
