Ange Postecoglou has made a major splash in the Premier League transfer window, with Spurs reportedly signing former Chelsea flop Timo Werner on loan for the remainder of the season.
According to multiple reports, a deal has already been agreed with Red Bull Leipzig for a loan move that has an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Tottenham will be without captain Son Heun-Min for a month as he competes in the Asian Cup against the Socceroos, while Alejo Veliz has potentially suffered a serious knee injury and could be ruled out for the rest of the season.

RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose said on Saturday it was “only right” that Werner wants a loan move given his lack of game time this season.
Werner, 27, has scored just two Bundesliga goals in eight appearances this season.
He scored 23 goals in 89 appearances for their Premier League rivals Chelsea after making a £45-million move in 2020, but returned to Leipzig in 2022 for just €20m.
In the Premier League, he managed just 10 goals in 56 games, missing a host of strong chances to score.
Sky Sports Germany claims that Spurs could turn the deal permanent at the end of the season for £15.5m.
Rose told Sky Deutschland a loan arrangement could help Werner secure a place in Germany’s squad for Euro 2024 on home soil.
“It’s only right that Timo wants to go out on loan. Timo would like to go to the European Championship,” Rose said.
“We wish him all the best and we’re crossing our fingers for him.”
He has scored 24 goals in 57 appearances for the national team.
