One of the more intriguing races of the Gosford meeting today is the Super Maiden Plate over 1200m – and we get to witness the highly anticipated return of Speymalt.
The lightly raced Peter and Paul Snowden trained galloper resumes off a 110-day break and she showed promise in her debut preparation.
She looks wound up for this event after an impressive recent trial at Rosehill, where she showed a sharp turn of foot and went through the line full of energy.
Further, that heat was run in slick time relative to the morning and the clock supported her visual attributes.
The mare brings a superior profile to this event relative to her rivals, coming through strong form references last preparation that have since been proven.
In addition, repeating her first-up effort from last campaign will make her hard to hold out and expect her to be charging late.
New Forest’s debut performance at Warwick Farm had more merit than the form guide reads and he was honest in defeat, finishing fourth.
The three-year-old chased a fast tempo and tried hard in an exceptionally high-rating race that has since produced a subsequent winner.
He drops back to the provincial circuit and expect him to roll forward and give a sight.
Majestic Style will look to make it back-to-back wins at Gosford and her win had class last start.
The four-year-old will tackle the restricted Provincial Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1900m and all key indicators suggest she can improve again off her last start outing.
She was run to suit that day, but once a gap appeared, she accelerated immediately and went to the line with her ears pricked.
Further, her ratings/sectional profile suggests the rise in distance is ideal third-up and she maps to have all favours.
Lady Redwood is a last-start winner at the metropolitan level, and she drops back in grade here and is a key danger.
She deserves to be at the top of the market with her recent form, and Group 1 winning rider Adam Hyeronimus takes the ride.
