Roosters half Sandon Smith to face court over serious driving charge

Roosters half Sandon Smith will front court on Friday after being charged with negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm.

Smith is listed to appear at Downing Centre Local Court for first mention, having been charged with a serious driving offence.

Roosters No.7 Sandon Smith will face court on Friday.

The NRL has confirmed the Roosters raised the matter with the game’s Integrity Unit and will await the court’s findings.

Smith, 21, is regarded as a key figure at the club after replacing Sam Walker in the halves for their finals tilt.

He has been pencilled in as a chief playmaker again in 2025 given Walker’s ACL injury will sideline him until midway through next season, and three-time premiership-winner Luke Keary has departed to the Super League.

More to come.
