Zac Lloyd might be running second in the Sydney jockey premiership, but he will make the trip to Coonamble on Sunday where he has a strong book of rides including the Brett Robb-prepared Poisen Point in the $150,000 Evergreen Turf WRA Country Championships Qualifier (1400m).
While Robb also has the odds-on and dominant favourite Gallant Star attempting to gain Country Championships redemption after a second in the final at Randwick last year, Poisen Point is working through the grades and has two wins and two seconds from four runs since resuming from a spell.

Lloyd has six rides at Coonamble, and in addition to Poisen Point he will be on the Brett Thompson-trained pair of Casino Diva in the WRA Rural Roundup Class 1 & Maiden Showcase Plate (1600m), and Donna Emilia in the Conseth/Terminus/Battleline/Swanny’s Benchmark 58 Showcase Handicap (1400m).
Both Casino Diva and Donna Emilia were last-start winners at Orange at the meeting at that track on February 28.
Lloyd will be on the Kylie Kennedy prepared Lagoon in the Gilgandra Toyota/Inland Petroleum Country Boosted Maiden Showcase Plate (1400m) with the former Peter Sinclair trained galloper having its first start for the new stable.
He will steer Waitapu for Jane Clement in the Geronimo/Regional/Agspray/Paragon/Woodhams Benchmark 66 Handicap (1600m) with that galloper having won at Tamworth three starts ago. Lloyd’s other ride on the day is Stern Reminder for trainer Cody Morgan in the Dad&Dave/Elite/Southernx/Evergreen Showcase Super Maiden Plate (1100m).
Stern Reminder is on debut and has had a couple of recent trials in preparation for his first start. Mudgee trainer Mack Griffith will combine with jockey Aaron Bullock with four leading hopes at Coonamble with Wolf Club lining up in the opening event of the day. Rail Trail will contest the fourth race of the day while Crown Legend will be in race five. Sanzeno will be the last runner of the day for Griffith when Bullock partners it in the Qube Agri Class 2 Showcase Handicap (1200m).
Sanzeno resumed with a Tamworth win before a last-start fourth at Quirindi, with Bullock having been aboard in both of those runs.
