Remember Jack ready to deliver another win for ‘Raging Bull’

An exciting colt having his first run since late November is set to steal the headlines at Monday’s feature Taree meeting.

On a track expected to improve close to Soft 5, Remember Jack, a son of fashionable sire Headwater and out of a Lonhro mare, is being aimed at much better country sprints, and even a trip to Queensland if he puts a Class 1 field to the sword over 1000m.

Trained at Scone by Stephen Jones, Remember Jack hasn’t started since destroying a handy maiden field at Muswellbrook by more than four lengths, running a record 50 seconds flat for the 900m.

And the three-year-old looks set to pick up where he left off, winning an open class trial comfortably 18 days ago.

Certainly, leading jockey Aaron Bullock is sticking like glue, having ridden Remember Jack both starts last prep as well as the trial win.

Drawn the inside gate, he should position up right behind the speed and prove way too strong for this lot – although dominant last-start maiden winners Uncertain Terms and Sacred Field can ensure this develops into a good form race down the track.

Remember Jack could well be part of another big return for Bullock who boasts 11 wins (33.33 percent) and a further 10 placings from his last 33 rides.

The “Raging Bull” starts the meeting in a Maiden Hcp over 1000m aboard well fancied four-year-old Olimba for underrated country trainer Cassandra Stummer.

He later climbs on tough mare Darci Diva who is aiming to chalk up three wins from her last five coming back from a struggling effort in much tougher Highway class at Randwick in heavy ground 16 days ago.

Bullock, though, will have his hands full in a handy edition of the feature Gloucester Cup, run at Benchmark 66 level over 1400m.

He rides honest North Coast six-year-old Buzz ‘N’ Joe who hasn’t won for a long time, and meets a field with two last-start winners, and a few coming through superior form races.
