Selections based on a good track.
Race 1
The well-bred 8. Pazyryk makes her debut for the Godolphin team, and she has been well-educated with the three barrier trials in readiness for this. Her latest over 822m was eye-catching and the time stacked up well relative to the morning. James McDonald goes on and she should be competitive. 7. Marhoona has shown good ability in both of her trials and can make her own luck on speed from a good gate. 9.Red Hot Rosie gets the benefit of the inside gate on debut and looked impressive in her recent trial. 1.Autumn Blonde brings race experience and will be hitting the line hard.
How to play it: Pazyryk EACH-WAY
Race 2
The Bjorn Baker trained 8. Scalable had no luck on debut over 1250m at Canterbury when forced to race three-wide without cover behind subsequent city winner Scintilla battling on to the line ok when defeating raceday rival 9. The Stars. She was dragged back from the draw last start and hit the line hard behind The Enchanter when only beaten 2.1L in what was a good run. She looks ready for a peak performance third-up and importantly draws an inside barrier which allows her to take up a position. 3. Mia Ballerina returned well at Warwick Farm over 1100m and will appreciate the step-up to 1250m. 6. Yes Yes Boss is a market watch on debut for the Waterhouse/Bott stable. 10. Elegant Artist looks next best.
How to play it: 8. Scalable WIN
Race 3
4. Century Song was collared late when stepping straight up to 1300m last start at Kembla Grange, he will be fitter for that effort and maps for a good run near pace again, and I expect him to look the winner for a long way. 2. Frontex is a market watch on debut for the Hawkes team. 3. Wa Wa Wa hit the line well on debut over 1250m and gets the services of James McDonald from a good barrier, while 5. Flying From Above hit the line well on debut and will derive benefit from that experience.
How to play it: 4. Century Song WIN
Race 4
12. Sting In The Tail appreciated the good tempo last start over 1900m at Canterbury when finishing over the top of his rivals. Although he rises 2.5kg at the weights, he is afforded the services of James McDonald and only needs to reproduce that effort to be in the finish. 4. Smart Legend looks the obvious danger rising to the 1900m again where he was a winner two starts ago at Canterbury. He gets the 3kg claim for Braith Nock and maps to get the run of the race from an inside draw. 3. Prime Impact looks the likely leader and will benefit from the 3kg claim for Anna Rope and 5. Kirikan is capable of running into the minor money.
How to play it: Sting In The Tail WIN
Race 5
7. Agenda Setter has been strangled in both of his trials this preparation and looks ready to run a good race fresh. He was a dominant winner first-up last preparation over 1000m at Hawkesbury and was only narrowly defeated second-up when stepping to 1100m at Wyong behind Hezdarnhottoo. He is suited by the firm track and with the anticipated good speed up front can finish off hard. 2. Outback Miss couldn’t have been more impressive first-up at Warwick Farm when making a mess of her rivals over 1000m on a wet track. She has to reproduce that performance on a dry track now and does rise 3kg in the weights. 1. Balkans and 8. Straand Beauty are both honest sprinters and can figure in the minor money.
How to play it: Agenda Setter EACH-WAY
Race 6
2. Sweysive will look to make it three in a row after putting back-to-back wins together this preparation. He looks the likely leader again from an inside gate, and although he has to lump the full 60kg, Josh Parr knows him and he will be hard to get past again. 8. Red Phantom maps for a good run on the back of 2. Sweysive and that will take him a long way into the straight. 6. Silent Impact is capable of improving with the claim and a safe map position on speed and 3. Fortune looks the next best.
How to play it: Sweysive WIN
Race 7
1. Autumnmation didn’t appear to love the wet surface last start when finishing down the track at Rosehill. She was a good winner two back and maps to get every chance again with the claim for Ben Osmand onto a firmer surface. 5. Little Baia was well-supported last week before dumping the rider shortly after the start. She is a winner at this track and distance and gets the claim for Anna Roper. 2.Bright Red is becoming costly for punters but gets McDonald from an inside draw and 4. American Starlet has each-way claims.
