Josh Green may be only in his third game back from injury but the Australian is already providing highlights, putting Norman Powell in a spin cycle on Monday morning.
Green’s Mavericks fell to a 112-98 defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers but the 22-year-old gave Dallas fans a reason to smile late midway through the second half.
Teammate Davis Bertans faked a shot before passing the ball to Green, who dropped Powell with a snatch back and then drained a step-back 3-pointer to put the Mavs up 37-32.

“I remember being in the locker room after the game and I was like ‘it’ll just be two games and I’ll be good,’ but obviously it wasn’t two games,” he said.
“It was more of just making sure I’m just ready to go whenever my time was going to happen. It’s one of those things where I’d rather it happen now than at the end of the season, so it is what it is. I’m moving forward now. I’m playing.”
Green was establishing himself as a key role player for the Mavericks before the injury and will only take on greater responsibility should Dallas be unable to strike a deal to add extra playmaking around Luka Doncic before the February trade deadline.
