Collingwood defender Jeremy Howe has spent a second stint in hospital, treating an infection in his broken forearm.
Howe suffered a broken forearm in Round 1 against Geelong after landing awkwardly in a marking contest, then underwent surgery the following day.
The club confirmed on Friday the 32-year-old had been admitted to hospital again to treat an infection in that same arm.

“Our main priority is Jeremy’s health and we will continue to support him as he recovers,” the club’s General Manager of Football Graham Wright said.
“The infection was picked up early by medical staff, and we don’t foresee any long-term issues.
“Despite the slight setback with his recovery, in true Jeremy style, he is in good spirits.”
“The club will provide an update on his return in the coming weeks.”
Howe has played 220 AFL games, with 120 of those coming at the Pies since he moved across from Melbourne at the end of 2015.
In his absence, Adelaide recruit Billy Frampton has come into the side.
