Two of the AFL’s biggest stars have continued their off-season friendship, which has caused quite the stir on social media.
Bailey Smith and Nick Daicos linked up over the off-season in New York, with some using the burgeoning partnership as fodder in talks surrounding the former’s future.
Smith was thrust into the centre of trade speculation with the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph stating he’s an “80 per cent” chance of departing the Dogs after the 2024 season.

The pair’s closeness has some convinced Daicos is putting work in for the club during his time off.
Photos of the duo together overseas have only poured fuel on the fire with fans believing Daicos was laying the groundwork for Smith to join the Pies.
The 22-year-old Smith is one of the AFL’s most recognisable players but he endured a tumultuous season that saw him left out of the Bulldogs’ stacked midfield.
With stars including Marcus Bontempelli, Tom Liberatore, Adam Treloar and Jack Macrae playing in the guts — Smith has been starved of opportunity.
His contract expires at the end of the 2024 season and while he was linked with a potential move to Hawthorn and Geelong, Daicos’ time in New York could be the difference if he’s to depart the kennel.
Smith made waves after stealing the limelight on Derby Day as he stepped out for his Birdcage debut.
The most followed player in the AFL on social media, broke hearts as he went public with his partner Gemma Dawkins.
As a guest of G.H Mumm the AFL heart-throb was a major hit throughout the day as fans mobbed the midfielder for pictures and selfies.
Now focus on Smith will turn to his on field performance and if he can resurrect his form and win back his time in the Dogs midfield.
