‘One player I want’: Ciraldo’s ‘priority’ directive to land Bulldogs Crichton — Transfer Whispers

A directive from Cameron Ciraldo for whichever club he signed for to make Stephen Crichton a priority target is set to land the Bulldogs the Panthers’ Origin star.

Brent Read reported on Triple M that Ciraldo told prospective clubs including the Tigers, to go hard for Crichton’s signature before the former Panthers assistant inked a five-year deal with the Bulldogs.

“He is 10 to one on I reckon,” Read said on Triple M of Crichton’s odds of signing with the Bulldogs.

“Cameron Ciraldo in his interviews with other clubs I know he was saying to clubs, the one player I want you to make a priority signing if I come to your club is Stephen Crichton.

“Those guys have got a really good relationship.

“It was pretty clear that Cameron wanted Crichton at whatever club he was at and he is at Canterbury.

“It will get knocked over pretty quickly I would imagine.

“I know the Wests Tigers are sniffing around him, but I think even they can see they are going to struggle because he wants to go to Canterbury.

“I reckon they will knock it over pretty quickly.”

22-year-old Crichton has 41 tries and 270 points in 76 games for the Panthers since his debut in 2019, winning two premierships from three grand final appearances.Crichton has also played three Origins for NSW and scored four tries in six Tests for Samoa to date.
