NSW LIVE: Blues enforcer in doubt as Freddy plans for the future in Origin III dead rubber

It might be a dead rubber but NSW are set to make changes for Origin III as they try to salvage some pride and avoid their first whitewash in 13 years.

Blues enforcer Payne Haas is in doubt after aggravating a hamstring injury during the Broncos’ win over the Dolphins on Saturday night.

NSW are already without first-choice players Nathan Cleary (hamstring), Latrell Mitchell (calf) and Tom Trbojevic (pec).

FOX LEAGUE PODCAST – MICHAEL MORGAN

Cowboys legend Michael Morgan opens up on the injury that forced him into early retirement — and the doubts he had over the decision. He also relives his iconic flick pass in the 2015 NRL Grand Final and filling Johnathan Thurston’s shoes in 2017.

Panthers young gun Spencer Leniu is reportedly firming as his replacement in Game III in what would be his Origin debut.

Sharks star Nicho Hynes is in line for a recall after his brutal axing after Game I, with five-eighth Jarome Luai reportedly set to lose his spot.

But Rabbitohs veteran Cody Walker is also being considered to partner Mitchell Moses in the halves, with the Eels halfback to keep his spot.
