NRL LIVE: All eyes on ‘game’s best player’ as Warriors travel to Cronulla

The Warriors will be hoping to cause an upset on Sunday afternoon when they face the Sharks at PointsBet Stadium in Cronulla.

The Sharks are coming off a thumping win over the Dragons last weekend, while the New Zealand-based franchise are looking for a third-consecutive victory after triumphs over the Bulldogs and Cowboys.

The Warriors will slide into the top three on the NRL ladder if they win their Round 5 contest, while the Sharks are eager to climb into the top eight for the first time this season.

All eyes will be on Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes, who put together a blistering performance during last weekend’s victory over the club’s cross-town rivals, where he finished with four try assists.

Round 5

Earlier this weekend, Storm superstar Cameron Munster hailed his former teammate and reigning Dally M Medallist as “the game’s best player”.

“He’s the game’s best player at the moment with what he is producing and how he is playing and how much time he has got,” Munster told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“It’s crazy to think how fast the game is, yet someone like that has so much time.

“He works so hard on his game, and he reminds me of ‘Slattsy’ (Billy Slater), he’s always working on his game and trying to find ways to pick apart the defence.

“He knows what kind of person he is, what kind of player he is, and he sticks to his strengths.

“He is the best right now. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him, and I’m sure he’d try to dial that down, but the confidence and playing with that carefree attitude.

“The way he’s going about it all, he’s still got a long time in the game, which is exciting for him and the Sharks.”

Kick-off is scheduled for 4.05pm AEST.
