WATCH: Willison try
Brisbane score again
It’s now 16-0. Adam Reynolds – who now appears OK following fears of a shoulder injury – supplies a great kick for Deine Mariner to score out wide. Errors and ill-discipline (and some good Broncos play) are killing the Bulldogs here. Brisbane lead 18-0 after 14 minutes
Nightmare getting worse for Canterbury
The unbeaten leaders look like anything but right now. They trail 12-0 and now are down to 12 men after Josh Curran was sent to the sin-bin for a shoulder charge. It was a pretty easy decision for the match officials to make.
Brisbane in again but Reynolds injured
A misplaced last-tackle kick from Toby Sexton gifts Brisbane a seven-tackle set. Canterbury compound that bty giving away a penalty. The signs from the visitors remain bad.
Then, a Payne Haas charge results in an off-load to Adam Reynolds who scores. But it’s not all good news as Reynolds is receiving treatment for a shoulder injury. A 12-0 lead is great, but we’ll need to keep an eye on Reynolds from here on. Brisbane lead 12-0 after 10 minutes
Horror start from Dogs
There won’t be a zero points conceded for Canterbury tonight. A shocking handling error in the first set of six was following by an even worse missed tackle by Canterbury No.9 Reed Mahoney. Xaview Willison scores as easy a try as he is likely to come across. There’s a long way to go, but the early signs were bad for the visitors. Broncos lead 6-0 after 3 minutes
Game on
The Bulldogs have first use of the ball following a fitting Anzac Day tribute before a big crowd at Suncorp Stadium. Here’s hoping these teams providing some great entertainment over the next 80 minutes.
Good news for Manly fans
Game time nears
The start of official proceedings is nearing, and it looks like a wet night in Brisbane. Rain is expected to fall during the match. Who that helps remains to be seen, but the agility and line speed of the Canterbury pack should be well-suited.
Before kick-off, we will have a tribute to Anzac Day.
A look at the Bulldogs
Things couldn’t be going much better. They are four points clear at the top of the table after six wins and a bye in the opening seven weeks. In an even better sign, the performances just keep on getting better as well.
Dogs fans are popping up everywhere – so much so that 65,000 turned out for their Good Friday demolition of South Sydney.
That, of course, does not guarantee anything once tonight’s game starts. It all has to start again.
