Tension is brewing within the Los Angeles Lakers, with LeBron James reportedly “not happy” with Anthony Davis as their season continues to stutter.
Although the duo were in sensational form en route to the Lakers’ championship run in 2020, the partnership hasn’t quite blossomed since.

James and Davis have had their respective injury troubles, especially the latter, in recent seasons.

And now, according to renowned Fox Sports US sports podcaster Colin Cowherd, it could all be about to come to a head as an NBA rival could be about to take advantage of their worsening relations in Los Angeles.
“LeBron and his camp have been frustrated by how many minutes he has to play,” Cowherd said on The Herd.
“They can’t depend on Anthony Davis. They are also mad that Darvin Ham (Lakers coach) is not keeping the pressure on Anthony Davis … I talked to an NBA source who I’ve known for a long tie, he said the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis, keep your eye on it.
“Anthony Davis is pouting, LeBron’s holding him accountable, LeBron’s not happy with him, AD’s gone into a funk, it’s not a coincidence.”
The Mavericks recently made a splash in the trade market by adding former Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.
Davis’ five-year, $AUD274 million deal wraps up in 2025, although he can terminate the contract in 2024.
