No love lost! Arch rivals at it again as Lions star takes exception to feisty challenge

It doesn’t look like Touk Miller or Dayne Zorko will receive Christmas cards from one another any time soon after yet another fiery encounter in the latest instalment of the QClash.

With the Gold Coast Suns leading the Brisbane Lions by 14 points in the third quarter, Lions star Zorko raced over to grab the loose ball after the bounce.

As Zorko picked up the ball, Miller raced over and yanked his rival to the ground to wrap him up.

However, neither man seemed to want to let go of one another while on the ground as teammates of both players had to pull them off each other.

Zorko was seen still grabbing onto Miller’s guernsey despite being dragged away by his fellow Lions players.

But after regaining his feet, Zorko then pointed furiously at Miller having clearly taken exception to something that happened in the tackle and forcefully shoved the Suns star.

Miller simply smiled and walked away, with the tone now set in a fiery contest between the two Queensland rivals.

The Suns went on to secure a thrilling 15.6 (96) to 7.13 (55) win over their arch-rivals to move within one victory over their record for most wins in a season.

Speaking after the game, Miller was ecstatic to have secured the win but was also pleased to see how some of his teammates, especially the younger ones, were willing to take the fight to the Lions.

“I was actually kind of happy to see other boys going after them, even some of the younger blokes,” Miller said.

“It could have cost them a week to be fair, but I’m all for that, our blokes sticking up for themselves and showing a bit of fight against a team we’re known to dislike.”

Miller and Zorko are no strangers to one another and have plenty of history going back several years.

Zorko infamously refused to shake hands with Miller after a hotly-contested match in 2018, although he went on to later apologise for not shaking hands.

The Lions star then had a go at Miller after the siren had sounded in a gritty four-point win for Brisbane despite the Suns ace holding Zorko to just 17 touches, four clearances and no shots at goal.
