Nicho Hynes is on the verge of his first State of Origin cap after being called up to Brad Fittler’s squad for the opening game in Adelaide.
The Dally M Medal winner, who has led the Sharks to an equal share of the competition lead, is finally poised to wear the NSW jumper after a stellar 18 months for Cronulla.
Fittler will announce the NSW squad on Monday.
Hynes served as 18th man for Game III of the 2021 series, and again for the first two games of the 2022 series.
