As he stood on the court during a promotion for TIDL, a cryotherapy pain relief spray, the Irishman was confronted by the Heat mascot.
In the middle of the promo the mascot strolled up to the biggest name in the UFC with a pair of golden boxing gloves on.
After a brief moment of playing around McGregor decided he’d had enough of the games and loaded up a monster left hook.
He delivered it clean onto the beak of the mascot sending his head spinning like a disco ball as he fell back onto the hardwood.
His UFC instincts kicked in even further as he landed another blow while the mascot laid on the ground motionless before handlers came in to drag him away.
As he was being dragged off the court McGregor jumped back in on the action and began spraying the mascot with his new product.
It was clearly a promotional spot, but McGregor’s big left hook apparently landed a little too cleanly.
The Athletic reported the mascot was sent to the emergency room, where he was given pain medication before being sent home. He is reportedly recovering well.
The brash talking Irishman hasn’t appeared in the UFC since suffering his second straight loss at the hands of Dustin Poirier in July, 2021.
A rumoured fight is set to take place between him and Michael Chandler once the currently airing season of The Ultimate Fighter wraps up.
While no official date has been set for his return fight, rumours have swirled the bout against Chandler could take place in the second half of 2023.
McGregor was in the headlines in recent times after photos of him alongside Aussie boxer Ebanie Bridges sent social media into a spin.
Bridges joked that McGregor “manhandled” her earlier this month as the pair watched Katie Taylor’s fight against Chantelle Cameron.
The snap set the internet ablaze, with Bridge’s fans flooding her Instagram with comments.
And the Australian has now upped things by admitting she would have sex with McGregor if push came to shove.
Bridges made the confession during a live Q&A with fans as she was asked to choose between McGregor, Joshua and American boxer Jaron Ennis for a game of “f**k, marry or kill.”
Bridges laughed that she didn’t know what she had “got herself in for.”
She then said: “Hahaha god ya’ll are killing me, what did I get myself into?”
Bridges continued, saying she’d “f*** McGregor” as he “seems like fun.”
She then opted to marry Ennis who is “sweet and quiet.”
But British boxer Joshua ended up as the “kill – because I’ve never met him. Lol soz mate.”
