Round 17

NSW PLAYER RATINGS

1. JAMES TEDESCO 4/10

Tried hard but it wasn’t happening. Freddy should have had the tough conversation before the series and picked Dylan Edwards. He’s a champion, but other NRL fullbacks playing better. Plenty of metres but ultimately no points.

‘Gotta feel for him’ Cook out of depth? | 03:14

2. BRIAN TO’O 6

Always has a crack. Did his best, running the ball for 172 metres in a beaten side.

3. STEPHEN CRICHTON 5

Always has a go but it didn’t fly. Performed well but had to shift left to right because of Tommy injury.

4. TOM TRBOJEVIC (no rating, injured)

Not his fault. Got injured when he did his pectoral. Bye bye the series, and maybe the season.

5. JOSH ADDO-CARR 6

Fastest man in the NRL but the Blues didn’t get him trotting properly. Sin-binned in the dying stages for a brain explosion.

6. JAROME LUAI 3.5

He’s a champion NRL player, not a champion Origin player. Cody Walker a way better option. Would have put points on with all that ball opening half.

7. MITCHELL MOSES 4

All the ball but the Blues attack was led by him and they couldn’t score. Kicked well, but the Blues should have picked Adam Reynolds.

8. JUNIOR PAULO 6.5

Ripped in as always. Not Junior’s fault his creative players couldn’t get it to fly.

17. REECE ROBSON 6

Started as predicted and aimed up. Blues attack was garbage. Can’t blame him.

10. PAYNE HAAS 7

Ripped in and did his job. His best game in Blue jumpers. Wasn’t his fault the attack was putrid.

11. TYSON FRIZELL 7

Aimed up again and proved he’s Origin player every day of the week. Justified his selection.

12. HUDSON YOUNG 7

A livewire, and he’s just tough. Held the gloves up on the left edge after major surgery with Damien Cook into centres.

13. ISAAH YEO 5

Always puts in but I’m a big fan of Cameron Murray. Yeo’s a champion but Cam should have been the starting 13.

INTERCHANGE BENCH:

9. DAMIEN COOK 7

Poor old Cookie. Why was he put on at left centre? Cameron Murray? Did his best in foreign position.

14. STEFANO UTOIKAMANU 5

Bizarre selection who only played 14 minutes. Love Freddy, champion player, but please. A Wests Tigers frontrower with minimal experience.

15. CAMERON MURRAY 7

Played just 33 minutes but his impact was strong. Would love to have seen him start

16. LIAM MARTIN 6

He’s a weapon but outshone by the likes of Rueben Cotter tonight.
