Manchester United are reportedly leading the chase for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong. The 25-year-old Ghanaian international has been a key player for the German side since joining them in 2016.
Frimpong has been a regular starter for Leverkusen, playing in both defensive and attacking midfield roles. He has been praised for his strong tackling, good passing ability and his ability to read the game. He has also been praised for his leadership qualities, which have seen him become a key part of Leverkusen’s midfield.
Manchester United are said to be keen on signing Frimpong as they look to strengthen their midfield. The Red Devils have been linked with a number of midfielders this summer, including Nemanja Matic, Fred and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. However, it appears that Frimpong is now at the top of their list.
The Ghanaian international is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford and is reportedly willing to take a pay cut in order to make the move happen. It is believed that Leverkusen are willing to let Frimpong leave for a fee of around £15 million.
If Manchester United do manage to sign Frimpong, he could prove to be an excellent addition to their midfield. He is a strong tackler and an excellent passer of the ball, while his leadership qualities could prove invaluable in the middle of the park.
It remains to be seen if Manchester United will be able to agree a deal with Leverkusen for Frimpong, but it appears that they are leading the chase for his signature. If they do manage to sign him, it could prove to be an excellent piece of business for the Red Devils.
