Major Tigers shake-up looms as club legend eyes off vacant GM role

Tigers legend and current assistant coach Robbie Farah is eyeing off a new role at the club, but not in the coaching ranks.

Farah is reportedly in the discussion to step into the currently vacant position of General Manager of Football at the Tigers, as per the SMH.

There has been no one hold the general manager position at the Tigers since the beginning of the year, when Tim Sheens vacated the role to focus on his head coaching duties.

It’s unknown at this stage if Sheens intends to return to the GM role at the end of next season when Benji Marshall is officially expected to replace Sheens as head coach.

According to the SMH, Farah intends to return in a coaching role with the Tigers in 2024 but admitted a front office role was something he was interested in.

The Tigers are in the midst of a horror season, parked on the bottom of the table with just three wins from 18 games. They are $1.02 odds with the TAB to collect the wooden spoon.

In addition to their poor form on the field, they have also had to deal with rumours of plenty of in-house fractures.

This includes the reported feud between Sheens, Marshall and senior recruitment manager Scott Fulton.
