LIVE: Heat star vanquishes Game One demons as underdogs locked in tight tussle

After failing to score a single point in Game One, Miami star Max Strus appears a man reborn as the Heat took a 26-23 lead over the Denver Nuggets at the end of the first quarter in Game Two of the NBA Finals.

Strus scored the first points of the game and it was a sign of things to come.

The Heat guard had only scored points from beyond the arc and drained four three-pointers from seven attempts.

Although the contest is evenly poised, a victory for Denver would give Miami an almighty mountain to climb.

Only five teams in NBA history have come back from an 0-2 deficit in the finals to go on and win the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Given Denver’s unbeaten record at home, a loss in Game Two could prove detrimental to the Heat’s hopes for the championship.
