LIVE: Crowds flock in after two-year exile as massive Caulfield Cup looms

One of the biggest days in the Australian racing calendar has arrived, with the Caulfield Cup – Australia’s other great horseracing cup – set to take place on Saturday at Flemington.

The $5 million contest, dating all the way back to 1879, features seven Group 1 winners among a stacked 18-horse field.

And for the first time in two years, there will be crowds in attendance to roar them home.

The handicap for three-year-olds and older runs over 2400m, or a mile-and-a-half.

It is a massive lead up for Australia’s grandest race, the 3200m Melbourne Cup, 17 days later.

The main event is Race 9 of 10 on the Caulfield card on Saturday, at 5:15pm AEDT.

WHERE CAN YOU WATCH IT?

At the course, on Channel 7, Racing.com, or Sky Racing. Foxsports.com.au will have live news and updates, including video soon after the race.
