LIVE: Broncos gun Reece Walsh faces judiciary over X-rated spray as teammate sledge defence revealed

Reece Walsh is facing the NRL judiciary from 6pm AEST over his contrary conduct charge following a foul-mouthed tirade while playing for the Broncos on Sunday. Follow live below!

Walsh was referred straight to the judiciary, accused of aiming his comments at referee Chris Buttler which Walsh fiercely denies and will contest.

An on-field microphone picked up the Broncos fullback firing an expletive-filled spray over a penalty during Brisbane’s shock loss to the Titans.

After the comment – which featured the F and C-words – was heard by Butler, marched the penalty an extra ten metres downfield.

The 20-year-old, who has flown to Sydney to front the judiciary, is set to claim he was abusing Broncos teammate Pat Carrigan and not Buttler.

“What the f*** do you mean, c***?” Walsh said.

He then rushed over to the referee saying “I was talking to Patty, I was talking to Patty.”

Walsh already has two contrary conduct charges to his name this season and will likely receive a 2-4 game suspension if found guilty.

That will rule him out of Origin III as Queensland look to complete their first series whitewash since 2010.

Walsh and Broncos halfback Adam Reynolds maintained the former’s innocence via social media.

“Show the full clip. Was talking to a player on the other team,” Reynolds wrote on Instagram.
