LIVE: ‘Bit of drama’ — Aussies in late injury scare as England win toss and bowl first

England has won the toss and will bowl first as they seek to avoid a series whitewash against Australia in the third ODI at the MCG.

Sean Abbott has returned to the Australian side for Mitchell Starc who has been rested ahead of the Test summer.

Skipper Pat Cummins is also back with Ashton Agar missing out.

Speaking at the toss, Cummins was questioned by Isa Guha on some late fitness “drama” surrounding the side, but played it down.

“No, no all good. There were a couple of late fitness tests but they came up ok. Couple of the boys with stiff backs but they had a hit in that rain break and they’re good to go.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Marnus Labuschagne said Australia was not treating the game lightly despite having take a 2-0 series lead.

“I think we’ve spoken a lot about the importance of every game leading into the World Cup, the importance of being able to win with different teams, winning with different makeups of sides,” Labuschagne told reporters on Monday.

“It’s nice that we’re starting to do that and obviously playing two spinners the last two games, we haven’t really done that much in Australia so being able to win with that sort of team just gives us a lot of continuity.

“It helps us build towards that World Cup, it gives you a chance to experiment in other ways.

“Leading into that 50-over competition, the World Cup, we want to make sure that we’re really set on where our orders are and who’s our best players for the best positions.

“Every game is really important for everyone just continue to grow in that space.”
