LIVE AFL: Home prelim at stake as finals finally return to MCG in mega Dees-Swans clash

Melbourne or Sydney will move a win away from a Grand Final appearance in a blockbuster qualifying final at the MCG tonight.

After an inconsistent second half of the year, the Demons (16-6, 130.5%) looked like they hit their straps at the right time of the season with a pair of crushing victories over Fremantle in Perth and the Lions in Brisbane in the final month – proving they still have what it takes to win the flag.

The Swans (16-6, 127.9%) narrowly missed out on hosting this game at the SCG, but they won’t be too bothered as they head into the finals with a full head of steam. They’ve won 10 of their last 12 games, including their last seven, snapping Collingwood’s 11-game winning streak in the process.
