The Saints (10-8, 104.7%) have dropped four of their last six games, with the only two wins coming against bottom-two sides West Coast and North Melbourne — and close wins at that – to suddenly be at risk of dropping out of the top eight.

There were no late changes for either side, with James Blanck (Hawthorn) and Jade Gresham (St Kilda) named the starting sub. It was the first time in his 131-game career that Gresham, who’s eligible for free agency at season’s end and has been heavily linked to Carlton, had been named as the starting sub.
