Australian gun Travis Head was left heartbroken after chopping the ball onto his own stumps one run short of a Test century — and teammate Steve Smith did his best to comfort him.
Fox Cricket captured Smith, who scored the fourth double century of his career against the West Indies on Thursday, giving Head a hug late on day two.
A mic’d up Smith can be seen heading over to the No.5 batsmen in between overs saying: “I just want to give you a hug.”

Smith then gives his teammate a warm embrace while giving Head his helmet, before heading on his way.
As the Australian side left the field, Marnus Labuschagne, who also scored a stunning 204 off 350 balls, couldn’t help but compliment his teammate.
“Very nice mate, very good to watch, good composure and good tempo,” Labuschagne said with his arm around Smith.
“Can’t say the same for myself.”

“What are you talking about?” Smith asked in reply.
Only 2.2 overs into the West Indies’ innings, debutant Tagenarine Chanderpaul was struck on the back leg from a Mitchell Starc delivery.
The Australian side delivered a huge appeal and ultimately umpire Richard Illingworth shook his head.
Captain Pat Cummins charged over to his slip cordon where Smith said: “oh my god, that looked out, that’s out, I think it’s out”.
After a review Chanderpaul remained at the wicket as the decision stayed with the umpire’s call.
