After months of uncertainty, Broncos prop Payne Haas has agreed to honour his contract and will remain at the club until the end of the 2024 season.
There were serious concerns about Haas’ future in Brisbane after the 22-year-old requested an immediate release halfway through the season.
That saw him booed by Broncos fans at Suncorp Stadium which the hulking prop admitted rattled him, and he agreed to put contract talks on ice until the end of the season.

Brisbane’s CEO Dave Donaghy has confirmed that Haas has been withdrawn his release request, according to News Corp.
“Payne’s a really important part of our club,” Donaghy toldThe Courier Mail.
“The contract part of it is settled, there’s a commitment in place from all sides with that.
“We’ve got a contract in place for another two years and I know how much we both want to experience success in that time.

“Payne had another great season and I can see him already working on hitting the ground running when pre-season starts next month.”
While Haas is set to remain at the Broncos for another two seasons, the Blues forward will have to wait until November 1, 2023 before he’s eligible to sign with rival clubs.
